Bob’s family moved to Florida at an early age. He was raised in an insurance family and later employed by State Farm Insurance Company as an adjuster. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving on board the USS Seattle AOE-3 in the Eastern Atlantic, and the Mediterranean Sea, As a graduate of Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Bob spent ten years in law enforcement before moving to Central Eastern Florida with his family. He learned the value of teamwork and caring for others which he has implemented into his life business plan.
The Space Coast of Florida presented opportunities for Bob to become a Nationwide Insurance Company Agent with "Filichia Insurance Associates", a family owned and operated insurance agency. He ran his own branch office for about twenty plus years. He also assisted in the development of three different Youth Soccer programs in north and central Brevard County. then Bob was voted in as the Brevard County Commissioner of this youth organization.
In 2008 Bob purchased the agency he built from the family agency and is now a part of the fast-growing independent agency market in Florida. He is a member of the PIA Professional Insurance Agents Association and has been a board member of sent. He was appointed as the Education Chair. Now he is the Secretary / Treasure. 2013 Bob received his CPIA professional designation as a “Certificate of Profession Insurance Agent”.
Bob resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife. Who is also a business partner of “Filichia Insurance Agency Inc”. He is presently a thirty-six-year member of the Florida District of Kiwanis International and has held numerous local and district offices. He was the Kiwanis Internationals, District of Florida’s Risk Manager for six years. Bob is a recipient of the George F. Hixson Award from Kiwanis International and a Ralph Davis Fellow for the Kiwanis Florida Foundation. He also holds a Legion of Honors award presented for thirty-two years of Community Service as a Kiwanis member in Florida. In 2018 Bob received an appointment as a G. Harold Martin Fellow by the Florida District of Key Club. He is a volunteer, a father of two grown sons and has a wife, and one beautiful granddaughter in college.
